Breathe

by Judith F Kennedy, PhD

Breathe.

4-7-8

Breathe in for 4 counts, hold it for 7 counts and then expel for 8 counts. On the 8 count make it last until you can feel the air going out all the way from your abdomen. By doing this it will force more oxygen into your blood and help relax you.

Works when you are angry, works at the dentist, works before a big conversations. Works!

If you feel overwhelmed, breathe. It will calm you and release the tensions. If you are worried about something coming up, or caught up in something that already happened, breathe. It will bring you back to the present.

If you are moving too fast, breathe. It will remind you to slow down, and enjoy life more.

Breathe, and enjoy each moment of this life.
